Our Digital Halton Creative Skills programme (thanks to funding from European Social Fund) provides FREE training opportunities in Digital Arts &amp; Technology skills for unemployed adults aged 19+ who live in Halton (Widnes &amp; Runcorn etc.).Attendance:This short course consists of 7 weekly sessions; the first is 1 hour long (for enrolment administration), and the remaining 6 sessions are 2 hours each.Running on a Monday Dates: 01.11.2021, 08.11.2021, 15.11.2021, 22.11.2021, 29.11.2021, 06.12.2021, 13.12.2021Time: 6pm-7pm (Week 1), 6pm-8pm (Weeks 2-7)Who is this course for?This course is for learners who are interested in gaining a basic understanding of website design, planning and development. Great if you are interested in setting up your own business, developing your creative skills for employment or further learning. 		What will be covered?<ul><li>Fundamental digital photograph editing processes (cropping, colour levels, layers and more)</li><li>File formats and sizes</li><li>Basic digital image manipulation techniques (blending methods, masking tools, filters, and more)</li><li>Create a digitally edited image each week using a combination of the techniques learned throughout the course</li><li>Industry expert guest speaker (Q+A)</li><li>Identifying Career Paths in Digital Photo Editing</li></ul>Through expert tuition, small class sizes, and access to a variety of digital tools and technology, this project will open up a world of opportunities to you when you discover that you can develop the skills necessary to consider a future in the Digital Arts and Technology industry.How will I be assessed?This is a non-accredited course, however, linked to the Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement (RARPA) framework you will be expected to build up a portfolio that will be assessed by your tutor against the course criteria.There will be a variety of activities and it is a great opportunity to meet new people online. You will be given supportive feedback from your tutor on a weekly basis to help you develop your skills. During these sessions, you will be encouraged to further enhance your skills and knowledge outside of the classroom, by completing the iDEA (inspiring digital enterprise award) award Silver.What will the lessons be like?All of the sessions are delivered online (using Zoom) to small class sizes (maximum 10) by two tutors with industry experience. What are the entry requirements?You will be required to complete some written work as part of this course which will require a good basic understanding of English and Maths. You will also need to be able to work on multiple tabs on a computer at once and have a good basic understanding of using different software packages such as Word (Microsoft), Google docs, Pages (Mac OS), internet browsers etc. Participants will be required (with guidance, if required) to set up online accounts (e.g. Google, editing software, Adobe).

The course will be delivered remotely (online), enabling you to learn from the comfort of your own home. Participants will be required to access Google Classrooms to take part (guidance on setting this up will be provided) so it is essential that students have access to a computer with internet access to participate in the lesson, as well as their own Google/Gmail account. Weekly sessions will be delivered to you via video conference with your tutor (Zoom). You will need to have access to an additional device with a webcam and microphone to access the video conference.Where?These sessions will be “virtual”, (not in-person) and will be hosted on Zoom, which is a popular and safe virtual meeting platform.Things you will need.Due to the sessions being of a digital nature you will need: <ul><li>A device connected to the internet, with the Zoom application downloaded which has a webcam and microphone.</li><li>Another device (Ideally a computer) connected to the internet, with a browser that can load chrome web browser.</li></ul>If you don’t have access to a computer with internet access and you are interested in participating, please get in touch via email info@makodigitalarts.org.uk or call us on 0151 345 1419.Does it cost anything?All of the sessions are completely FREE of charge thanks to funding from the European Social Fund.In fact, we will give you a £30 Amazon voucher for successfully completing the course!What next?By completing your details you are applying for a place on the course, in order to secure a place you will need to complete our online enrolment form (see your Eventbrite confirmation email for details) and meet the course criteria.
