Do I need to bring my own bike?

Accepted Answer

Yes- your bike also needs to be safe to ride. This means the brakes work, the chain is rust free, the wheels go round and the tyres are inflated.

What do I need to wear?

Something you are comfortable cycling in. We don’t recommend jeans (they are uncomfortable when wet) and we always suggest a waterproof jacket, sensible shoes and gloves.
We recommend you wear a helmet but it is your choice.

Question 3

What do I need to bring?

For this one you need working front and back lights. A drink and a snack are a good idea, plus any medication you might need.

You should also have essential tools such as a pump and the correct sized inner tube for your bike. We also recommend a bike lock suitable for your needs.

How fast are the rides?

We never leave anyone behind and adjust the pace to the group. The back marker is always last! As this is a social ride (and a large group) we do not ride as fast or in the same way as you would on your own.

Question 6

What does a ‘led’ ride mean?

We have a team of ride leaders on the ride – the front marker leads the way & controls the pace. The back marker makes sure no one gets lost or gets left behind. The middle marker comes to the front to help with junctions.

The ride leaders are all Cycling UK trained and all rides are risk assessed

Is this ride suitable for me?

What happens if I have a mechanical problem on the ride?

We will always try and fix a mechanical on the ride - however we are very limited to what we can do to an electric bike. If we can't solve the issue, it is your responsibility to arrange transport home for you and the bike.
