<a href="https://ideas-alliance.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ideas Alliance CIC</a> and <a href="https://groundswell.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Groundswell</a> are thrilled to invite you to a screening of <a href="https://groundswell.org.uk/clarissa/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Clarissa</a>: a film created to improve the health of people affected by homelessness through better understanding of their experiences.This important film aims to create change through insights within the storyline of the main character, Clarissa.Her story is one of trauma, the importance of trust, and how this impacts someone’s experiences of healthcare. It has been woven together from real experiences of people trying to access the healthcare system while facing homelessness in the UK.Clarissa was made by Chris Godwin from<a href="https://innereyeproductions.co.uk" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Inner Eye Productions</a> in collaboration with Groundswell; screenwriter and producer Jimmy McGovern also served as a story consultant on the film. It has been funded by <a href="https://wellcome.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Wellcome Trust</a>.Post-screening discussions will give attendees opportunity to reflect on issues voiced in the film and consider how small changes in practice or policy could create a better healthcare experience for the people they support. Please note: Clarissa is a fictional film created in collaboration with people who have lived experience of homelessness. It is not intended to be viewed as best practice, but instead open up the conversation about the barriers to accessing healthcare faced by people who are experiencing homelessness, and potential solutions to these.CONTENT WARNING: Clarissa explores themes relating to childhood abuse, drug taking and drug dependency. By accessing a ticket, you are also consenting to being filmed, and that your reactions and comments will be captured. The purpose of the recording is for Groundswell and Ideas Alliance to capture key themes from the event discussion for the purposes of project evaluation and reporting, within which people’s views and comments will be anonymised. All data will be held by Groundswell and Ideas Alliance for those purposes only. All recordings will be deleted when the project is completed and approved by Wellcome Trust, by 31st December 2021.
