What age group is this event suitable for?

The event is designed for children aged 5–7. Older or younger siblings are welcome, but the activities are aimed at this age range and all children will need to have a ticket.

My child may be sensitive to the subject matter  – should we come?

The story is light-hearted and fun, with monsters that are silly rather than scary, aimed at children aged 5–7. If your child is particularly sensitive to this kind of theme, it’s worth considering before booking, but most children find it more funny than frightening.

What does my ticket include?

Your ticket covers storytime with Jason Brown, a monster mask-making activity, and time to meet Jason for book signings. You’ll also have the chance to browse some fun monster merch.

Does the grown-up accompanying the children need a ticket too?

Accepted Answer

Grown-ups don’t need a ticket if they’re just accompanying a child. Tickets are only required for participating children.

Question 5

Can I buy Jason’s book at the event?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Jason will be signing copies of 'Carl Loft and the Oover Monster', along with other monster-themed goodies.

How long does the event last?

Around 60 minutes, just the right length to keep little monsters engaged without the wiggles setting in.

Will there be refreshments?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the on-site café (The Meetpoint Coffee) will be open, serving hot drinks and treats for adults and kids alike.   This is a join-in-together kind of event, so please plan to stay with your child throughout.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, spaces are limited. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Will my child be supervised, or do I need to stay with them?

This isn’t a drop-off event, we ask that a grown-up stays with their child throughout. Partly because it’s more fun to share the story and crafts together, and partly so you can whisk them off to the toilets if needed (we don’t have the staff to do that).
