Taketime meditations use your imagination to provide a calm, comfortable space in which to meet God

Our Taketime Training Day material is now available online. The aim of the online training is to enable participants to understand the Taketime vision and to enable them to use Taketime with groups, individuals and in worship.The online part of the course should only take 4-5 hours to complete and is available over a 7 day period so you can work at your own pace.When you book via eventbrite, you will be enrolled to the Taketime course by Amanda from the Taketime team. If you have any questions, email us at training@taketime.org.uk.Contexts in which Taketime has been successful include: <ul><li>Worship</li><li>Outreach Programmes</li><li>Discipleship</li><li>Prisons</li><li>Schools</li><li>Youthwork</li><li>Hospitals</li><li>Hospices</li><li>Pastoral Care</li><li>Prayer Spaces</li></ul>WHAT WILL I LEARN?<ol><li>After completing module 1, the Student Practitioner will understand the origins, scope and uniqueness of Taketime meditations</li><li>After completing module 2, the Student Practitioner will be able to compare the different ways Taketime impacts people and can distinguish the different ways Taketime can be used</li><li>After completing module 3, the Student Practitioner will be able to identify how Taketime will work in their own community</li><li>After completing module 4, the Student Practitioner will have the skills to lead a meditation and facilitate a sharing session</li><li>After completing module 5, the Student Practitioner will understand the practicalities of using Taketime in different settings and apply this knowledge to meet the needs of their own situation</li></ol>CAN ANYONE COMPLETE THE TAKETIME PRACTITIONERS COURSE?Yes. Whether you want to lead a group, use Taketime in Worship or whether you just want to find out more, you are welcome to attend.This course is offered to new students wishing to become Taketime Practitioners and also to existing Practitioners as a refresher. Due to the evolving nature of Taketime, all Practitioners are required to attend a refresher course at least once every two years. This course is offered to Taketime Practitioners at half the usual cost. If you are refreshing your training, please contact us at training@taketime.org.uk to request a discount code.CAN ANYONE LEAD TAKETIME TOGETHER GROUPS?If, following the training you wish to become a Taketime Together group leader, you will need to:<ul><li>be sponsored by a Church which would have overall responsibility for the group</li><li>be safeguarding checked (e.g. DBS or PVG) - as vulnerable people might become part of a group</li></ul>If you are thinking about starting a group, please note that ideally, you need two people to run Taketime Together – one to lead the meditation and one to lead the sharing part of the session. Leaders alternate in leading the meditation and the sharing - and are there to support and mentor each other as well as praying for one another and for the attendees. Therefore, if possible, please encourage a co-leader to sign up to the online training. Please note that if, on completion of this course, you wish to run an Approved Taketime Together Group and/or to download and use Taketime Meditation scripts, audio files or videos, you will need to purchase an annual licence. Licences are from £36.00 per year. The licence allows you to use the Taketime scripts and audio files in public for one year from the date of purchase. This also allows you to advertise your group(s) on the Taketime website and receive support from the Taketime team. Supporting Taketime in this way provides essential funding, enabling Taketime to continue.
