Help us tackle the gender balance in computer science.

Scotland’s technology sector is growing one and half times faster than the overall economy! With further growth predicted, we want to help students take the first step towards thinking about a career in technology and the many technology career options available to them.This one-off session highlights the importance of technology and gives an overview of the different careers available in the tech sector. During the session, two representatives from Dell will facilitate an interactive discussion about different careers in the Technology sector, with the aim of helping your students think about the many technology career options available to them.This session is ideally suited for Secondary School students before they choose their subjects for Nationals or Higher. If possible, students should have access to a personal device to access online polls during the session.Speakers:

Sarah Phee
, Account Executive, UK Public Sector - Education

Sarah has been at Dell Technologies for nearly 4 years and it has been a whirlwind. With hard work and determination, Sarah progressed within a year and made the substantial jump from an Internal Sales Rep to an Account Executive. Working at Dell has been fantastic and there is a vast amount of resources and support around you – the people definitely make the place. Progression and development are encouraged and celebrated at Dell and Sarah cannot imagine herself working anywhere else in the future.

David Jenkins, Consultant, Project/Programme Management at Dell TechnologiesDavid is a former Psychology Graduate, with ten years’ experience of the Contact Center Technology Industry working in various roles from entry level to management. David has worked for Dell Technologies for the last three years and has consistently worked on the integration of new telecom technologies and processes within our Technical Support Business. Outside of work, David is a keen amateur footballer and part-time furniture builder (mainly as he has just bought a new home with his fianceé and building flat-pack furniture is their life now).
