General Registration is not essential, but it helps us to know numbers and so better manage both rides and catering for you.All riders are invited to join us to help celebrate the club’s 100th anniversary at a barbecue at the cricket club (from 1pm).This <a href="https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/80102481" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">link</a> has the route for Vintage (classic bike) and Social Rides (the route for other rides is` on the club website). It is mostly flat with a couple of sections of unpaved road for the vintage and social ride (can be avoided). It is optional. It’s always nice to talk about the bikes we’re riding and it is something we‘d like to share further. What counts as a vintage bike? something that captures the spirit of cycling past or is of particular historic interest. As a guide that would typically be steel-framed, rim brakes, down tube (or handlebar) shifters, toe clips. But early Look pedals, Mavic electronic shifting, butted carbon frames etc would all qualify.Please get to Pump Rooms around 8:30 am to give the opportunity to show your the bikes. And bring your bikes to the barbecue after the ride where prizes for best bike and best bike/rider ensemble will be awarded.For ex-club members onlyThere are a couple of extra questions:<ul><li>when you were active with the club and </li><li>which ride you’d like to join. That can help us to organise rides which group riders from the same era so you have the chance to be with old ride buddies. </li></ul>If you are not doing the vintage ride, aim to arrive at around 8:50 for briefing - rides start to leave from 9:00
