What better city than Brighton, renowned for its pride and inclusion in those amazing humans on the fringes?Join Andrea Anderson for her talk aimed to provoke thought and create action from the digital community to make a positive change to the environments they create for Neurodivergent folk to thrive. The talk will comprise of a panel of speakers who are all Neurodivergent and represent a lived experience of being so, with much experience of challenges faced to navigate Neurotypical environments. The panel also comes with a variety of ideas about how inclusivity can be reached, enabling Neurodivergent folks to thrive. The audience will be invited to participate in the conversation with their shared neurodivergent life experiences and questions for the panel. This session is for:Neuro divergent folk who want to join in with this conversation; Digital business owners who want to understand what they need to do to create environments for Neurodiversity to thrive;Anyone who wants to gain insight into lived experiences of Neurodivergence.Andrea Anderson is a Career Coach helping clients to get clear on their identity and direction, to be Bolder in their confidence, creativity, and impact. She has a decade of experience in fast-growth digital environments, creating cultures for people to thrive; to unlock the potential of brilliant humans. She is an experienced and intuitive facilitator of conversations leading to outcomes of positive change. At the age of 45, Andrea learned that she is Autistic and her mission in life to create environments for humans to thrive finally fell into place. Neurodivergents are presented with many challenges of living in ways that are unnatural, constantly adapting how they communicate and interact in ways that are expected by Neurotypicals. That adaption takes a lot of energy and can lead to burnout, mental health challenges and mental illness. About Brighton Digital Festival:This event is part of Brighton Digital Festival 2021 hosted by Lighthouse. Brighton Digital Festival (BDF) is a platform that supports and encourages people across the city to experience and explore digital technology and culture. The festival recognises the influential and innovative creativity of the digital economy and culture sectors and provides space for meaningful critique about the role of digital technology in reshaping life and culture.
