Design and make your own wooden litter picker using the laser cutter at Fab Lab Plymouth.

<p>Become an environmental champion and create your very own biodegradable wooden litter picker with the Smart Citizens team! Over this two-part workshop for beginners, you will develop new skills in digital design and digital fabrication techniques, and explore how sustainable design techniques can be used to protect the environment.</p><p>In the first workshop you will explore the computer aided design software (CAD)<em> Rhino, </em>and learn how to customise an open-source litter picker design with text or images. You will then get hands on with the laser cutter and create your litter picker out of wood. <h3>Who is this workshop for?</h3><p>This free workshop is open to everyone in Plymouth (UK) and the surrounding region, aged 16 years or above. It  is perfect for those wanting to learn new skills in digital design and fabrication, and those passionate about using sustainable design to protect the environment. No previous experience of digital fabrication or design is required.</p><p></p><h3>COVID-19 - Lateral Flow Test Requirements</h3><p>Plymouth College of Art are following Government guidance to help safeguard all members of our community. To attend this in-person training at Fab Lab Plymouth, it is strongly advised that you take <strong>two rapid Lateral Flow tests (three days apart) and secure two negative test results before attending each session, with the last test to be taken 24 hours before the workshop.</strong> These tests can be accessed for free, and can be booked <a href="https://www.gov.uk/find-covid-19-lateral-flow-test-site" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</a>, are widely available to <a href="https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">order online</a> for home delivery, or to <a href="https://maps.test-and-trace.nhs.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">collect in person</a> from sites such as the Guildhall in the centre of Plymouth.</p><p></p><h3>Digital Badges</h3><p>By taking part in this workshop, you will gain a Smart Citizens Digital Badge that can be added to your CV, email signature or LinkedIn profile to highlight your new skills in digital design and fabrication.</p><h3></h3><h3>Registration alternative</h3><p>If you prefer to register for this event via video call, would like to request an alternative registration format or require any assistance with your application, please contact Sophie by email sheaddon@pca.ac.uk</p><p></p><h3>Everyone welcome</h3><p>We are committed to making our events and opportunities accessible to everyone.
