ExploreStation invites you to join our national conversation about the future of railway station design in the UK. ExploreStation is a programme of online and face-to-face activities being organised by Design Council, <a href="https://theglasshouse.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Glass-House Community Led Design</a>, <a href="https://digitalurban.place/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Digital Urban</a> and <a href="https://www.commonplace.is/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Commonplace</a>, to help engage the public in shaping the final stages of a new station design standard being developed by 7N Architects for Network Rail. This design responds to ThinkStation, a previous engagement programme created to inform a brief for a new approach to station design for small to medium-sized rail stations across the country. Join us in Bristol for an interactive exhibition, which will take place from 3-5:30 pm, a workshop from 6-8:30 pm (dinner is included) or book to attend both! More detail on each is given below.Interactive Exhibition - 15:00 - 17:30 pmThis will be an open exhibition space where you can drop in to learn more about the Explore Station project, past and current rail station design, experiment with your own design ideas, and have a look at the emerging designs from 7N Architects. This will also be a space to share your memories and stories linked to rail travel, and to help us generate ideas around the role that train stations can play in promoting sustainable design and in supporting more sustainable behaviour by station users. Design workshop - 18:00 - 20:30The workshop will be a space to work with The Glass-House and other participants to explore station design through a series of hands-on and creative design activities. We will look at the emerging modular station design from 7N, and consider how this can best be further developed to meet the needs of diverse users and to be integrated into a range of places and communities in the future.This is a free workshop, but places are limited. Please book your ticket to take part. Dinner will be provided for participants.
