Norfolk Record Office (NRO) collects and preserves unique archives relating to the history of Norfolk and makes them accessible to people all over the world.The events listed here are run from our base at The Archive Centre, Martineau Lane, Norwich.   Free parking is available at County Hall for Archive Centre users. This online workshop will help you take your first steps into exploring your family history.

Discover some tips on collecting materials and memories within your immediate family before finding out how to use census records, civil registration, and parish registers to trace your ancestors.Our one hour online introductory workshops include<ul><li>A talk on how to use Norfolk sources for your research</li></ul><ul><li>A chance to ask questions during the session</li></ul><ul><li>A workbook containing workshop notes and a practical activity</li></ul><ul><li>A chance to view some of our Website Tutorials explaining how to use various websites to locate and access the documents mentioned (these are also available via our YouTube channel)</li></ul>The workshops are completely free of charge and focus on sources that you can access from home.Find our Winter 2021-22 programme of online events <a href="https://norfolkrecordofficeblog.org/events-winter-2021-22/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</a>If you are no longer able to attend, please let us know so that we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.
