In a new era, how do artists launch their art businesses to successfully create income, gain visibility and recognition, whilst creating lasting momentum? The VAA Graduate &amp; Early Career to Pro Show focuses on spearheading practical conversations to enable artists to identify those important next steps. If you have recently graduated or are early in your art career looking for a refresher, navigating the art world can seem a tricky process. It can be a daunting task to know which opportunities are open to you. This micro-learning event will help you gain important clarity so you can be empowered to create your art career on your own terms.Speakers: Learn from the art industry&#x27;s finest career experts and artists. By providing you with industry expertise our speakers will teach you how to thrive and develop a career from early-career graduate to professional artist.Karen van Hoey-Smith – Artist Mentor, Art Broker, BBC Art Advisor – VAA Panellist &amp; HostDr Jeremy Turner, is the programmer leader in Fine Art at The University of Chester and continues to exhibit nationally and internationally on a regular basis. Jeremy is a lead judge on the Visual Art Open Prize. Key discussion – Clarity on your next steps, plus the importance of art competitions and open call opportunitiesJacob Chan, a ceramist from the Carmarthen School of Art, graduated in 2017 and has since seen his career soar to heady successful heights. A finalist on Channel 4’s The Great Pottery Throw Down in 2020, and also an exhibitor at the prestigious Walker National Art Gallery in 2021, Jacob is represented by leading galleries in the UK. Key discussion -  Gaining momentum on Social Media, PR and MentorshipRosalind Davis is an Artist, Curator, Royal College of Art (RCA) Graduate, and Author of ‘What They Didn’t Teach you in Art School’. Key discussion – Creating your network and crafting your Artists StatementJason Hicklin, a graduate of St. Martin’s College of Art,  he has been awarded the Hunting Art Prize at the Royal College of Art and the Julian Trevelyan RE Memorial Prize. Hicklin is Head of Printmaking at City &amp; Guilds of London Art School and has a studio in Shropshire. Key discussion – Getting Gallery ReadyPrize Draw: Everyone who joins this online event will be entered into a prize draw to win a support package with over £5,000 including Artist Mentorship, Social Media Strategy Session and lifetime membership to the VAA.
