We work with young people, adults, families and community organisations to improve skills for learning, life and work.We engage with people through: youth work, adult learning, family learning, vocational training, employment support, work experience, and capacity building.

Communities Lifelong Learning and Employability

A practitioner session to explore the CLD contribution to reducing poverty. This session is part of a national series organised by regional CLD professional learning networks across Scotland. It is open to all community learning and development practitioners from any part of the country. This session aims: •	To enable practitioners to share practice and experience and reflect on their roles in relation to reducing poverty in Scotland. •	To consider the capacity of CLD to reducing poverty when undertaking adult learning, youth work and community development •	To reflect on how far CLD practitioners are influenced by the voices of those with lived experience of poverty •	To consider how/ how far CLD practice enables individuals to move out of poverty •	To consider how / how far CLD practice enables people to act collectively for changeThis session will include a discussion starter input and small group discussions on existing practice and how we build from this, the boundaries of our capacity , political expectations , hearing and being led by the voices of those affected by poverty , links to community planning partners.The format of the event will be:Welcome - A MathersOpening Presentation - Bill Scott, Poverty Commission chairBreakout sessions 1.
