Chai and Chat - In support of Islamophobia Awareness MonthJoin us for Chai and Chat, a collaborative joint event co-organised by Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind (HFEH) and Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA).In support of Islamophobia Awareness Month, we will be having discussions around this year’s theme of ‘Flip the Script’. Through activities and conversation, we will explore how we can build bridges, celebrate achievements, and challenge misconceptions faced by the Muslim community.This is an INTER-FAITH and MIXED GENDER event, all are welcome! ACAA was founded by Dr Nooralhaq Nasimi, who arrived as a refugee in the back of a refrigerated container with his young family in 1999. The charity has steadily grown and is now the largest Afghan diaspora-led charity in the UK, with 4 offices across the UK - Hounslow, Harrow, Birmingham and Liverpool.ACAA is a well-established community-based charity delivering practical, educational and emotional support to refugees and racially minoritised people from around the world including those from Afghanistan, Syria and the Ukraine. Our extensive experience of working directly with newly arrived refugees in crisis and successful model for refugee integration work means we understand the needs of refugees and new migrants and how to respond to them to ensure the best outcomes for the immediate and long term. About HFEH Mind:Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind (HFEH) is a local Mind charity that provides mental health advice and support to people of all ages in the Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing, and Hounslow areas. Its services include crisis support via Safe Space drop-in centers and a helpline, various advice services, and low-cost counselling through Mind Within Counselling.
