Digital Craft Festival November 13-14, 2021Basket weaver, Hilary Burns, MBE in conversation with Daniel Carpenter from Heritage Craft Association.Based near Paignton, Devon, Hilary is a basket weaver. Starting her career over 30 years ago weaving textiles. A leading member of Bovey Tracey&#x27;s Devon Guild and the Heritage Craft Association, she was awarded an MBE in this year’s Queen’s Honours List for her services to craft. She makes both functional baskets and sculptural pieces, working sustainably and seasonally. Working mainly in willow, from a bed that she originally planted in 1985, with additional locally harvested, natural materials including hedgerow materials, hazel, oak and ash.Please be aware that this event will be recorded.
