National Safeguarding Adults Week 2021 takes place during 15- 21 November 2021.

As part of National Safeguarding Adults Week, Cathy Taylor, DSB Stakeholder Engagement Adviser will be delivering an hour long overview of the role of the Disclosure and Barring Service. She will be covering:
<ul><li>The role of DBS- including how DBS checks and referrals can play a part in making recruitment safer and reduce the risks to vulnerable people.
</li><li>The different of levels of DBS checks that can be applied for and what is shown on each check, who is eligible for the different levels of checks.
</li><li>When and how to make a barring referral to DBS.
</li><li>Who has a legal duty to refer.
</li><li>The barring process.
</li><li>The impact of being included on a barred list
</li><li>Regional Outreach Workers
</li></ul>There will also be time at the end of the session to ask any questions around DBS processes and legislation. This session is aimed at anyone who would like to know more about the DBS and suitable for Trustees, Staff and Volunteers.
