About the workshop: Over the workshop you will learn how to re-work 16mm found footage using hands-on techniques such as re-editing to drawing and painting directly onto the film strip. We will also explore ways we can use locally collected plants, flowers, and seaweed to create direct prints on the surface of the film. The workshop is open to all levels of experience-you do not have to have a background in film or photography to attend this workshop. Seaweed Snacks and refreshments will be provided but we recommend you bring your own lunch. The workshop will include a walk around Florence Arts Centre so please bring sensible footwear. The wider project: ‘Seaweed stories’ is a project that explores the relationship between people, seaweed and landscape, in the past, present and future.
