Sound artists André Braga-Verissimo and Sasha Maye Bruce, under the name Sound Emergence (a project from And gather CIC), have been awarded funding from Arts Council England to create immersive sound performances in some of Kent's most fascinating historic buildings.

Beginning in Folkestone & Hythe, the soundbath “pilgrimage”, will travel North and East, taking in ancient pilgrimage routes and considering the relationships that existing between people, place, journeys and landscapes. The project highlights the vulnerability of Kent's heritage to climate change.

What are the aims of Sound Emergence?

Sound Emergence creates live sound experiences that facilitate meditation, inner exploration and community connection. It is a practice aimed at bringing people together through the medium of sound and music, providing immersive experiences tailored to specific locations, such as historic buildings.
