Overview

Behaviour is communication. Learn to reframe ‘challenging behaviour’ with compassion and understand what children are really telling us.

When Behaviour Feels Too Much

Understanding behaviour is the first step to changing it

If you are dealing with shouting, refusal, explosive reactions or moments that seem to come out of nowhere, you are not alone.

Whether you are a parent trying to hold things together at home, or a professional supporting a child in school, behaviour that challenges can feel relentless. It can leave you questioning what you’re doing, worrying about the impact on the child, and wondering how to make things better.

And often, you are given advice that just doesn’t seem to work.

Please know this.
* Children are not choosing to be difficult.
* They are communicating something they don’t yet have the words for.

And when we understand the “why” behind behaviour, everything begins to shift.

In this webinar, Kelly Jarvis will guide you through what behaviour that challenges really means, what sits underneath it, and how we can respond in ways that reduce stress and support children more effectively.

You will come away with a clearer understanding of behaviour, practical strategies you can use straight away, and the confidence to approach these moments differently.

If things are feeling hard right now, this is your opportunity to gain clarity and feel more in control.

Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to book your place now.

The important bits you need to know:

  • All webinars are recorded except where we explicitly state they will not be
  • When you sign up, we will send you the link to the webinar. You’ll get reminder emails in the run-up to the event so long as you don’t unsubscribe from Eventbrite emails
  • When you join the webinar your camera and microphone are automatically turned off so we cannot see or hear you.
  • If you are delayed then don’t worry about joining late.
  • If something comes up and you cannot make it then don’t worry as all ticketholders are sent a link to the recording of the webinar the next day. This is then available to you for 30 days.
  • Slides, references and CPD certificates are also sent out the next day.
  • Join live and you have the chance to ask any questions you might have.
  • Any questions or queries, then please email them through to events@sunshine-support.org.uk
