Singing Makes You Feel Better - A documentary about Men Are Singing (32 mins)Men Are Singing was Cornwall's first alternative male voice choir. The "beloved" (The Guardian) social art project was established in 2018 by artist Seamas Carey, as an enquiry into why younger men weren't joining choirs any more. Over six years they developed into a 50-man strong chorus - headlining festivals, inventing new traditions and championing a positive image of masculinity and mens mental health. Ted Simpson's new documentary beautifully captures the life &amp; death of this Falmouth based choir. Charting its origin story, artistic discoveries and its climatic ending process, following Carey's decsion to leave Cornwall and close the choir. Featuring live footage from their final performance, intimate interviews with choir members and amusing behind the scenes footage, the film stands as testament to the project's legacy and reinforces their motto: singing makes you feel better. The film will be proceeded by... Who's The Most Cornish Person You Know? (2024) 30 minsA tongue-in-cheek documentary, in which Seamas Carey embarks on a quixotic quest, joined by filmmaker Neal Megaw. The pair follow a chain-reaction sequence of interviews, hold thought provoking converations and head (they hope) to the epicentre of Cornishness. There will be a Q&amp;A with Seamas Carey after the screenings.
