Introduction to Managing People in the Non-profit Advice Sector

Managing people effectively is key to creating a motivated, high-performing team. This interactive one-day course will introduce you to the essential skills and confidence to lead, support, and develop your team while navigating sector-specific challenges.

• Understanding your role as a manager and how to make time for management
• Setting expectations, giving feedback, and motivating staff
• Handling difficult conversations and managing performance
• Effective communication and team engagement strategies
• Supporting staff wellbeing and preventing burnout

• Experienced managers looking to refresh their skills
• Team leaders and supervisors wanting to develop their leadership abilities

We offer this workshop three times a year, and limited the number of spaces for each workshop, so we encourage you to book early and reserve your place!

Free spaces are available to applicants from organisations holding Access to Justice Foundation ILTA funding*. Price for all other applicants is just £125.

The course is delivered by experienced organisational development consultants Matthew Howgate and Jayne Butler, who are lead tutors on the Management and Leadership Programme (MLP).
