Trauma Awareness Training - Day 1

All children and young people can experience hope through creativity.Kazzum Arts uses creativity to enable children and young people who have been impacted by trauma and adversity to feel seen, heard and valued. We do this by providing opportunities to explore creative expression and agency through multidisciplinary arts activities.We work with young people who have experienced high levels of Adverse Childhood Experiences. Our programmes use creative activities as a means of building confidence, communication skills, and engagement in learning.Our programmes have been developed in consultation with young people and are delivered by a diverse team of skilled artist facilitators in partnership with schools, hospitals, and community settings.

Kazzum Arts' distinctive training session introduces practitioners to the key principles within a trauma-informed approach.

This distinctive training session introduces practitioners to the key principles within a trauma-informed approach. Designed to develop knowledge, insight and relational capacities when working with participants who have lived experience of trauma. The session is interactive and holistic, using the arts to explore both theory and practice within a trauma-informed approach.This session will:<ul><li>Introduce the concept of trauma and traumatic stress</li><li>Develop understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences.</li><li>Explore the impact of toxic stress upon child development.</li><li>Develop knowledge about neurobiology and its relationship to trauma</li><li>Support self-regulation and self-reflection skills for practitioners</li></ul>Duration: 3 ½ hrs session Who is it for: Practitioners within Arts, Culture and Education settings.Capacity : Up to 25 peopleMaximum 4 attendees from a single organisation - please get in touch if you would like to discuss our training options for organisationsBooking closes on the 26th January at 5pmYou will be sent a Zoom link to the training 24 hours prior to it starting.A PDF of the slideshow will be made available after the session on completion of an online feedback form.
