Wild Herbal Medicine Workshop Brighton with Jessie Martelhof

Bevendean downBrighton and Hove, England
Sunday, August 23  •  1:30 PM - 4 PM
Overview

Learn about the wild medicinal plants that grow in late summer and make a herbal remedy with qualified Herbalist Jessie Martelhof BSc, NIMH.

Join Jessie Martelhof at this relaxed and informative workshop in the peaceful and wild setting of Bevendean community garden and Bevendean nature reserve in Brighton.

Late August is the time of abundant fruits and seeds in the fields, woods and hedgerows and many of them can be used medicinally.

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

You will first go on a wild medicine foraging walk and get introduced to a variety of seasonal wild medicinal plants. You will learn how to safely identify and harvest these plants and then get to pick some and make a simple herbal remedy to take home.

Jessie will introduce you to some simple herbal medicine-making techniques.

Jessie will share her extensive knowledge of native herbal medicinals with you and teach you about the myriad of medicinal properties contained within many of our common wild plants, the different ways to prepare them as well as some quirky history and folklore.

Late summer is the time when we see lots of fruits, berries and seeds ripening out in the fields and hedgerows and we can make some nutritious immune-boosting herbal medicine with them, to help support us through the winter.

Come on your own or with a friend, Jessie always creates an inclusive atmosphere.

The walking section is very gentle and is suitable for all abilities
