SCAS-Funded Research: Past, Present and Future
Overview
Abstract:
Since 2020, the Society for Companion Animal Studies (SCAS) has supported research that furthers the current understanding of the human-animal bond via several rounds of pump-priming awards. These awards provide funding of up to £10,000 for 12-month projects that are aligned with SCAS objectives and clearly demonstrate how funding will enable development of ongoing research. In the first part of this webinar, the SCAS Research Working Group (RWG) will share some key outputs and discuss the impact of SCAS-funded research. This will be followed by an introduction to the 2026 funding round and guidelines on preparing an application. https://www.scas.org.uk/funded-projects
Speakers:
The SCAS Research Working Group (RWG), led by SCAS board members Dr. Kris Hill & Dr. Clare Thomas-Pino, oversees the selection and administration of SCAS funds to support research into the human-companion animal bond.
