THE WORKSHOP

Okay, you have the foundations of your own new world, but where do you go next? This workshop looks at histories, culture, and magic or technology. Also covered is info-dumping and how to avoid it.

The workshop uses presentation, group work, quizzes, and practice, in an atmosphere that is friendly and relaxed. Ideal for anyone writing in the speculative genre. Feel free to bring along your own writing to sharpen up, or start from scratch in the session.

THE TUTOR

Join award-winning author Ian C Douglas, the maker of a few make-believe locations himself, for this introduction to world-building. Spend time on the origins of your world, such as creation myths, landscapes, and peoples.
