The Good Practice Mentor (GPM) programme is a new and innovative project that brings together legacy, learning and resources from Ageing Better, a seven year Test & Learn project that worked to reduce social isolation and loneliness in people aged over 50, and engaged more than 150,000 people in over 366 projects.The GPM team includes;South Yorkshire Housing Association, Age UK Camden and Leeds Older People ForumEach partner brings a unique set of learning and skills to the project, and together we offer a wide range of training, bespoke support for your organisation and toolkits and resources to help you on your journey to reducing loneliness and isolation.Find out more about the Good Practice Mentor programme and the range of support on offer by emailingJennie Shrewsbury, Programme Lead - j.shrewsbury@syha.co.uk

Hosting groups to create a sense of belonging

This collection of workshops offers support around creating a 'Warm Welcome' in community groups and ensuring that they are inclusive spaces.

In this short session we hope to bring some lightness and brightness to Blue Monday, exploring informal conversational strategies and interactions that create a spark.We will explore why a Warm Welcome is so important and how we can build interactive steps that develop trust, enhance engagement, and deepen connection. Through micro actions and more mindful engagement we can create interactions that make a real difference; not only with our community connections, but with our colleagues, and within our own daily lives in general. How do you like to to be welcomed and what makes you feel valued or warm and fuzzy inside? How might you start to consider what others' might appreciate too? Together we will look at bringing this awareness into our work, relationships and wider community network connections too..So, come join in the conversation with a comforting drink and an openness to share and receive as part of Warm Welcome Week - "creating a surge of warmth and positivity in the coldest month of the year.." https://www.warmwelcome.uk/warm-welcome-week
