A Historic Tour of Waterloo Station

A Historic Tour of Waterloo Station

Overview

An immersive walking tour of Waterloo Station and the surrounding areas, hosted by Network Rail and tour guide Rachel Kolsky.

Due to popular demand we continue with running a series of station tours to celebrate rail’s remarkable past, its role today and its importance for a sustainable future. This immersive walking tour of Waterloo’s historic station and the surrounding areas will be led by Network Rail and celebrated historian and author Rachel Kolksy.

Wonderful Waterloo Tour:

Opened in 1848 and once described as being for 'a better class of commuter’ this tour in and around Waterloo Station reveals the stories behind not one but seven stations and from one, The Station of the Dead, there were no return journeys! Discover links to the past including the station’s role during two World Wars, artwork from the 1951 Festival of Britain, luxury restaurants, contemporary public art and numerous cinematic associations including a news cinema, TV lounge and iconic film locations.
