This training is designed for counsellors, therapists, psychotherapists and coaches working with neurodivergent individuals.
With a mixture of presented content, discussion, reflection opportunities and practical strategies, this training will increase your confidence and flexibility in working with neurodivergent clients.
The training will cover:
- Terminology
- What is neurodivergence
- ADHD
- Autism
- Dyslexia
- Complexity and co-occurrence
- General adaptation strategies
- Specific strategies
- Case study discussions
The training will run from 9.30am to 1pm with 2 or 3 comfort breaks during the session.
About the trainer
Hannah Stainer is a counsellor and coach who works with neurodivergent adolescents and adults. Previously she was a teacher specialising in dyslexia and autism, and she continues to offer mentoring to neurodivergent university students. She is currently completing a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and her research is focused on autistic women's experiences of receiving a diagnosis in adulthood. She is autistic but does not have a formal diagnosis.
