Getting outdoors with primary languages

Stenhouse Building, Room SW104Glasgow, Glasgow
Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 4 pm to 5:15 pm
Overview

An in-person workshop for primary teachers and primary education students in Scotland

Step outside the classroom and discover how the outdoors can become a powerful space for language learning and exploration. Outdoor environments are rich with opportunities for children and young people to connect their learning to the real world in meaningful, memorable ways. Research shows that outdoor learning not only boosts child development, health, and wellbeing—it also promotes inclusion and inspires curiosity.

In this in person workshop, we’ll share practical suggestions and resources to inspire and support you in integrating languages into outdoor learning through an interdisciplinary approach.

Ideal session to support #30DaysWild #30DaysWildMultilingual in June

The workshop will take place in-person at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. We will be in touch closer to the time with joining instructions.

The University of Strathclyde is committed to transparency and to complying with its responsibilities under data protection legislation. Read our full privacy notice.

Other Open Access workshops from SCILT:
