Aim

Discover a day where nature, creativity, mindfulness and culinary experience come together.
This special collaboration between Urban Forage and Bright On Photography weaves together the joy of foraging with the art of seeing through your smartphone lens and your awakened senses.

Perfect for anyone who wants to slow down, learn something new, connect with others, and leave with both new knowledge, beautiful photographs and a satisfied appetite!

What to Expect

1. Guided Urban Foraging Walk

With Christian from Urban Forage, you’ll explore edible plants, herbs, berries and fungi growing around us.
You’ll learn:

  • Identification tips
  • Safe harvesting guidance
  • How to recognise flavours, aromas, textures
  • How to connect with nature through all five senses

This isn’t just a walk, it’s an invitation to immerse yourself, listen, smell, touch, observe and rediscoverthe natural world.

2. Mindful Smartphone Photography Session

Led by myself Eva, you’ll learn how to use your smartphone camera with confidence and creativity.

You’ll discover:

  • Essential composition techniques
  • How to see light, detail, pattern and colour differently
  • Key camera functions on your phone
  • Simple editing methods to elevate your images
  • How to slow down, look deeply and photograph mindfully

Taught on an iPhone, but all smartphone users (iPhone + Android) are warmly welcome.

DSLR and mirrorless camera users are also more than welcome!

This part of the day is not about technology, it’s about noticing beauty, finding your visual voice, and creating images that feel meaningful in response to your perceived experience.

3. Cooking Demo + Shared Lunch

After the walk, enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared lunch made from ingredients gathered during the forage.

Watch a simple cooking demonstration, discover new recipe ideas, and savour the unique flavours of nature’s bounty.

A moment to rest, chat, share experiences and enjoy good company.

4. A Holistic, Social Day That Nourishes You

This is more than a workshop.
It’s a day to:

  • connect with nature
  • deepen your senses
  • learn practical skills
  • meet likeminded people
  • slow down and enjoy real conversation
  • walk, eat, talk, create, and be present

You’ll leave feeling grounded, inspired and creatively refreshed with new knowledge, new photos, a renewed appreciation for the world around you and...new taste buds!
