What is Forest Bathing?

Forest Bathing (or Shinrin Yoku) comes from Japan and is the practice of connecting to nature on a deeper level through a series of mindful invitations that use your senses to explore the woodland around you.

What are the benefits of forest bathing?

Forest Bathing has been proven to reduce symptoms of stress, depression and anxiety, improve sleep, lift your mood and energy, improve concentration and focus, reduce heart rate and blood pressure, boost your immune system and more!

What should I wear?

Wear comfy clothing that is warm. Wearing many layers is better than not enough. Bring waterproofs or a warm coat. Walking boots or sturdy trainers are best as the paths in the garden can be uneven underfoot.

What can I expect?

A warm welcome. Time for yourself. We will meet in the wood circle and then explore the wooded garden together.  The garden is only 4 acres and can be walked around in under an hour but we will take longer as we'll walk slowly and pause often. We will finish with a cup of tea and snack.

Is there car parking and toilets?

Yes there is a small car park so car sharing is highly encouraged. There is a toilet on site.

Where is the Italian Garden?

Accepted Answer

The garden is located  near Ipplepen. Please use postcode TQ12 5UL and follow the directions on the Italian Gardens website. Please note the area has poor mobile signal.

Is there public transport to the garden?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately there is no public transport to the garden. Please car share with friends or let me know if you require a lift as it may be possible to pick you up from Newton Abbott train station.
