Life Drawing - Short Poses

Life Drawing - Short Poses

Overview

A dynamic session where we will be drawing from an unclothed model for poses of 10 mins or less. All abilties welcome!

Come along to short pose life drawing! This is a fun session where we draw from poses of 10 minutes or less, enabling our model to take on more dynamic poses.

Dates: Saturday 7th March, Saturday 2nd May

Time: 2pm - 5pm (entry from 1:45pm)

This session is untutored, and all abilties are welcome. Newer artists get an abundance of poses to loosen up with, and plenty of chances to try again, whilst the quick poses provide excellent gesture practise for students or those with more experience.

We will be drawing from an unclothed model. The session is run by tutor (and short pose enthusiast) Lancelot Richardson, who is on hand if you need any assistance with your drawing. There will be a couple of short breaks for hot drinks and biscuits between pose sets.

If you have any questions, just email Lance on lancelotrichardson@gmail.com.

What you need to bring

Bringing your own drawing materials and paper is recommended. There are a lot of poses in the session, so you will need plenty of paper. Limited materials will be available for sale. A3 drawing boards will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. There are chairs and tables available in the space.

Getting to the Space

This session is run at the Studio room at Hanover Community Centre, 33 Southover Street, Brighton, BN2 9UD

Safety & accessibility

The studio itself has overhead lights for drawers and natural light. Low music will be playing at sessions. Fixative spraying is not allowed in the studio and is done outside. Oil paints are not allowed in this space. We also try to improve safety by:

  • Providing sick pay for freelance life models
