What is Family Constellations?

Family & Systemic Constellations were developed by Bert Hellinger. They offer a way of looking beneath the surface of our difficulties — revealing hidden family and ancestral patterns that quietly influence our present-day lives.

Rather than analysing or telling stories, constellations open up a space of direct experience. Someone brings an issue or question, other people step in to represent members of their family system, and together we begin to see what has been hidden. Often, what emerges is a fresh perspective, more space inside, and the possibility of moving through life with greater ease and flow.

What happens at a Circle?

  • Arrival and settling together
  • A short exercise to build safety and connection
  • Two constellations each evening (names drawn on the night)
  • Closing circle

You don’t need to bring an issue to take part. As a Representative, you may step into the place of a family member, ancestor, or an archetype such as Love, Fear, or Freedom. Many people say their most powerful experiences come through representing rather than being the issue-holder.

Why come regularly?

Constellation work is not usually a one-off. Like therapy or yoga, its effects tend to unfold over time, as movements integrate and new possibilities quietly take root.

This work is systemic. We don’t only do it for ourselves. When something shifts in one part of a system, it can affect the wider whole, families, relationships, and even those who are not present or aware that the work is happening.

Returning regularly supports continuity, commitment, and community, and helps create a stable field in which deeper movements can emerge over time.

Attending regularly as a Representative allows you to:

  • learn through many different stories and systems
  • experience the work directly in your body, not just cognitively
  • notice subtle shifts unfolding in your own life over time
  • build trust and connection within a consistent group
  • contribute to movements that may support change beyond the room, within your wider systems

You are welcome to come once, return occasionally, or attend regularly. There is no right or wrong way to engage. For those who feel drawn to commit more consistently, multi-session passes are available at a reduced rate.

About Katie

Hello, I’m Katie. I trained to advanced level with the Centre for Systemic Constellations (CSC), including Couples & Intimate Systems.

Before this work, I spent years in the corporate world as a headhunter in London. I later trained as a coach and yoga teacher, and for over a decade I’ve been teaching yoga in Bristol.

I also come from a large, blended family. I’m both a mother and a step-mother, and have lived through the complexities of inter-racial marriage, divorce, and all the challenges and gifts that family systems bring. These experiences, alongside my professional training, mean I meet people with empathy and real-life understanding.

People often describe me as direct, warm, and practical. My circles are not about performance or theory — they’re a space where we can sit together honestly, and allow what wants to be seen to emerge.
