Is there a cost to attend?

We are proud to offer this as a free event and we would never want cost to be a barrier to you attending. If you have the capacity, we would greatly appreciate a suggested donation to the museum of £5 per person to help these events continue.

How long will the talk last?

Refreshments will be available in the Lecture Theatre from 10:45am and the talk will begin at 11am. The talk will last around 45 minutes followed by time for questions and conversation. We will wrap up around 12pm. We hope you'll also visit the Polar Museum, which is open from 10am - 4pm.

Do I need attend all three talks?

No - we hope you'll consider joining us for all three, but each talk covers something different.

I'm not an academic, can I still attend?

Accepted Answer

Yes! This event is designed for a non-academic audience but still prioritises the chance to learn something new or dive deeper into an interesting subject area. Feel free to bring a notepad and pen or just an open mind.

Will you have refreshments?

We will have hot drinks and biscuits for you to enjoy. Please get in touch if you have specific dietary needs.

Is your venue accessible?

We host the talks in the SPRI Lecture Theatre. There is step free access through the side entrance. There is a row at the back for step-free seating options and space for wheelchair users along the rear wall. The Lecture Theatre has four steps down to the chair seating area.

Do you have parking facilities?

Unfortunately we cannot offer parking facilities, however please do get in touch regarding any access requirements.
