The programme is artistically directed by Grammy Award-winning percussionist Lekan Babalola, whose career spans collaborations with global icons including Stevie Wonder, alongside leading figures in UK jazz such as Soweto Kinch and Courtney Pine. With deep roots in African rhythm and contemporary jazz, Lekan brings a level of musical authority, cultural depth, and global perspective that defines the identity of the series.

Under his direction, each night is intentionally curated to honour the legacy of jazz from pioneers Miles Davis and John Coltrane—while pushing forward the sound of modern UK jazz, soul and live music culture.
