A half-day, online training course that focusses on developing staff awareness of what clear professional boundaries are.

The roles of staff working within older persons services have changed in recent years as service models change and the demographics of customers are also changing. Maintaining clear boundaries remains an important aspect of a professional service for older people.

This course focusses on developing staff awareness of what clear professional boundaries are, as well as the consequences of 'crossing boundaries'.

There will always be a need for some flexibility within the role and understanding the limits and recognising 'grey areas' will help staff to protect customers and themselves.

  • Supporting residents through clear boundaries
  • Understanding risks and how to operate within them
  • The limits of clear boundaries
  • Understanding the impact of boundaries that are not clear
  • How to recognise “grey areas” where professional boundaries may be crossed
  • Developing techniques and approaches to managing boundaries

  • C16 Service Tailored and Responsive to Meet Individual Needs and Preferences


Who is this for? aimed at supporting front line staff in independent living settings

When is it? Wednesday 13th May 2026 (exact timings tbc)

Cost? £95 for erosh members and £125 for non-members


Numbers will be limited to 15 – further courses can be scheduled if there is high demand and there is also the option for the course to be provided in-house.
