Overview

PANS & PANDAS are often misunderstood. Gain clarity, validation and practical guidance to support affected children and families

Some children experience a sudden and dramatic change in their mental health, behaviour, or functioning, often following illness. PANS (Paediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) and PANDAS are conditions that can sit behind these changes, yet they are frequently misunderstood, overlooked, or dismissed.

This webinar is designed for parents, carers, and professionals who want to better understand PANS and PANDAS, recognise the signs, and learn how to navigate the often challenging journey to diagnosis and support.

PANS is a neuropsychiatric condition triggered by a misdirected immune response to a range of infections or inflammatory events.
PANDAS is a subtype of PANS, triggered specifically by a Streptococcal infection.

In this webinar, we will explore:

  • What PANS and PANDAS are and how they differ
  • The common signs and symptoms families may notice
  • How and why these conditions occur
  • Common misconceptions and myths
  • The process of seeking recognition and diagnosis
  • How to access health, education, and SEND support
  • What the future can look like for children with PANS or PANDAS

As always, there will be time for questions and discussion throughout, making this a supportive and interactive session.

All attendees will receive slides, references, CPD certificates, and access to the recording for up to 30 days after the webinar.

This session aims to provide clarity, validation, and practical guidance helping families and professionals feel less alone and better equipped to support children affected by PANS or PANDAS.
