Nowruz (Persian New Year)
Sat 21 March | 14:00-17:00

Join us for Nowruz (also known as Persian New Year) to celebrate the beginning of Spring and new life.

Nowruz is a celebration with over 3,000 years of history, observed across Iran, Central Asia and many neighbouring regions. Rooted in cultural traditions, it marks the Spring Equinox and symbolises renewal and hope for the new season ahead.

A special thank you to our co-creators and community collaborators Afrooz Bayat, Zarifeh Peygar and Hesam Moshfegh.

We warmly invite you to welcome the longer days and explore the connection between humans and nature, with a variety of Nowruz edible dishes and delicacies, live music, dancing and community togetherness. This event is open to everyone, including people who observe Nowruz, and those that might be joining-in for the first time, with opportunities to learn about traditions such as haft-sin: the custom of setting a table with seven items beginning with the letter ‘s’. This can include sabzeh (sprouted lentil or wheat), which symbolises rebirth; seer (garlic) for good health; serekh (vinegar) for patience; seeb (apple) for beauty.

We look forward to welcoming you to be part of the Nowruz community, and celebrate this joyous occasion.
