An introduction on how young women and girls are affected by criminal exploitation and violence associated with ‘gangs’ and county line activity
The seminar uses case studies, interactive exercises and trainer presentations to explore a gendered understanding to young women's experiences. Exploring indicators of vulnerability, barriers to accessing services and ideas and principles for practice with young women and girls.
The training is CPD certified, and attendance at the whole session will result in a certificate of completion.
Learning objectives
- Have an increased understanding of definitions and legislation relating to criminal exploitation;
- Have an increased knowledge of risk and vulnerability indicators to support identification of young women and girls;
- Recognise and engage with the impact of the language we use;
- Understand the Practice Principles that should inform all work with young people affected by exploitation;
- Understand the knowledge, skills and attitudes young women tell us they want professionals to have when working with them.
