A Classics summer school for 16-19 year olds combining high academic standards with entertaining extracurricular activities

JACT Classics Camp is hosted at Denstone College in Uttoxeter. We offer a 5-night residential camp for students, whether they are currently studying classics, or are brand new to the ancient world, we have a program to suit you. We offer 6 lessons a day and you can choose classes tailored to your interests, from beginner's Greek to Roman history. Outside of class, we offer enrichment workshops in lunch times and offer rehearsals each evening to produce an ancient comedy and an ancient tragedy on the final night.

Booking through eventbrite will add you to our applicant mailing list. We will then contact you with a lesson choices form in early May in advance of payment.

Key information:

1 - Travel: Denstone College can be accessed from nearby Uttoxeter Station or Derby Station. The nearest airport is East Midlands

2 - Travel to school: Denstone shuttles will collect attendees from these stations on 27th July and will drop attendees off on1st August at an additional cost. Further details to follow soon.

3 - The total cost of the Summer School including bed, board and tuition starts at £420. We will contact you with an invoice in Easter for what your final total will be. If you are awarded a bursary then this will be deducted from your final total. If you provide a late booking, we will invoice you within 10 working days for the oustanding amount.

Please note that your place is secured once you have paid on Eventbrite. Please do not worry if you don't receive an invoice before Easter.

4 - There is an additional £10 charge through Eventbrite to secure your place on the Summer School.

5 - Catering includes lunch and dinner on arrival on the 27th July and breakfast before departure on 1st August.

6 - Tuition includes 6 lessons per day and evening activities.

7 - Bursaries are available to cover some of the cost, apply here: https://www.classcivsummerschool.com

8 - The deadline for bursary applications is Monday 13th of April. However, late applications after this date will still be considered. To apply for a bursary, please fill in this form:

9 - Full payment for the summer school is due on the Monday 25th May. Any applications after this date willl be given a more individualised payment deadline, dependent on date of invoice.
