THURROCK ANTENATAL INFORMATION SESSIONS - APRIL 2026

DATES: Thursdays 16th, 23rd, 30th April

TIME: 6:00-8:00pm

LOCATION: Stanford-le-Hope Family Hub, Copland Road, Stanford-le-Hope, Essex SS17 0DF

COST: FREE

Our workshops are run by our friendly team of peer supporters, who are highly trained - and are mums too. This means they've been in your shoes at some point. These professionals offer expert, impartial support. And because they're local to you, they know how things work in your area and where to signpost if you need any extra help or information.

What to expect from our Antenatal Information Sessions:

  • A relaxed, non-medical setting
  • Sessions take place over just three weeks
  • A friendly, non-judgemental space where you can ask questions and share any worries you may have
  • A free information pack of resources
  • The chance to meet other local parents-to-be and make friendships
  • The option to join a WhatsApp group run by our peer supporters, who will share extra info and tips
  • Invitations to our coffee mornings, Bumps and Babies meet-ups and other local events

What you'll learn about:

  • Session 1: You and your wellbeing (learn about healthy eating, keeping active, understanding your changing body, and emotional wellbeing)
  • Session 2: Preparing for labour and birth (learn how to manage contractions, what to pack in your hospital bag, different birth positions, making birth plans and how to manage your birthing expectations)
  • Session 3: Practical baby care (learn about feeding your baby, nappy changing, how to bath your baby, safe sleep, and travelling with your baby)

Dads and partners are very welcome to come along too (please book a space for each person attending).
