Join primary school leaders in a virtual event  providing fresh insight &amp; strategies on improving attendance and attainment in your school.

The conference takes place across two afternoons:<ul><li>Wednesday 4 March, 12:30pm–3:30pm</li><li>Thursday 5 March, 12:30pm–3:30pm</li></ul>Each afternoon features different content so please join both days. Links will be provided with the agenda prior to the conference.The conference brings together senior officials from the Department for Education, sector experts and analysts, and leaders from primary schools who are leading change in their settings.You will have the opportunity to:<ul><li>hear directly from senior DfE officials on national priorities and current insights.</li><li>gain practical guidance from data.</li><li>learn from other primary school leaders who are achieving strong and sustained improvements.</li><li>have access to tools, ideas, and frameworks to implement immediately in your setting.</li></ul>Sessions include<ul><li>Using data to tackle absence: how to interpret attendance data effectively and turn insights into action.</li><li>Focus on literacy and writing: strengthening foundations for early reading success.</li><li>Parental engagement and effective communication: building constructive relationships that support regular attendance and learning.</li><li>Developing a whole school approach to securing good attendance: practical models that embed consistent expectations across staff, pupils, and families.</li><li>Spotting potential marginal attendance gains: techniques to identify quick wins and small changes that yield big impact.</li><li>Targeted support for pupils: what effective, timely, personalised intervention looks like in practice.</li><li>Supporting transition into secondary: preparing pupils and families with the information and routines that secure strong continuation of education.</li><li>Expert panel: a panel session answering questions from attendees around securing good attendance and attainment.</li><li>Developing strategies for deep and sustained maths learning that support success at the end of KS2 and beyond</li></ul>Speakers include:<ul><li>Olivia Bailey MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, DfE</li><li>Sir Kevan Collins, DfE Non-Executive Director and former CEO, Education Endowment Foundation</li><li>Jayne Lowe OBE, National Attendance and Behaviour Ambassador</li><li>Dr Tim Coulson, DfE Director General, Regions Group</li><li>Dr Tim Mills MBE, Expert sector panel lead for The Writing Framework and former Executive Director of Primary - STEP Academy Trust.</li><li>Beth Gibson MBE, Head of Attendance, Birmingham City Council</li><li>Claire Williams, Headteacher, Our Lady's Catholic Primary School (Warwickshire)</li><li>Michael Eggleton, Executive Headteacher, Charles Dickens Primary School and Nursery (Southwark)</li><li>Sally Aspinwall, Executive Headteacher, Beacon CE Primary School (Liverpool)</li></ul>
