Overview

Explore the historical elegance of Lord Burlington’s Villa at Chiswick in an exclusive event filled with art and culture.

This private tour with Ricky Pound will explain the history and symbolism of Chiswick House together with a garden tour in the afternoon.

Chiswick House and gardens reflect the architectural achievements of Richard Boyle, 3rd Earl of Burlington who created the landscape gardens from 1716 onwards and the elegant neo-Palladian villa between 1726 and 1729. William Kent, Burlington’s protégé and collaborator, was responsible for some of the fine interiors ceilings and furniture in the villa as well as softening the formal features of the gardens into a more natural landscape with statuary, temples and grottos.
