RISE - Ensuring consistency of SEND provision across a primary school

William Byrd Primary SchoolHarlington, England
Tuesday, Mar 10 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am GMT
Overview

This workshop will share approaches to ensure consistency with SEND provision and seeing this in practice including in enhanced provisions.

The workshop will aim to share the approaches used at William Byrd Primary School to provide consistency of SEND provision across the school. This will include learning walks that see this in practice. It will highlight how this fits into the wider SEND identification system and universal, targeted, specialist provision provided. It will highlight how enhanced provisions can be utilised effectively and set up with consideration and intention for children with complex needs who need a greater level of additional support than can be provided in the classroom.

We hope the key takeaways from this event will be:

A SEND identification system with selected assessments

A Universal Offer that aims to reduce sensory overload, provide consistent routine and a high level of visuals. This includes an adapted version for Early Years Practitioners and an audit which allows for quality assurance and ensuring all leaders are equipped to be leaders of SEND.

Creating enhanced provision spaces that provide equity to the mainstream classes whilst being adapted for the children's needs.
