International Womens Day ride - Milton Keynes
Celebrating International Women's Day and women's cycling in Milton Keynes with a number of rides to suit all abilities.
To celebrate women's cycling we are inviting women from around Milton Keynes to join us on an International Women's Day ride.
There will be a range of different types of rides available to suit a range of preferences and abilities.
This event welcomes all women and will be a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
The event is being organised by Cycling Citizens MK which is an Alliance of organisations and employers in Milton Keynes who share a common interest in getting more people cycling.
The event is being hosted by Trek Bicycles, a member of the Alliance and is being run in partnership with
- local cycling group, Broughton Cycling Group,
- Breeze (a women's cycling group part of British Cycling), and
- Ride and Shine (a local women's cycling network).
- Milton Keynes CTC (part of Cycling UK)
WHAT RIDES ARE BEING OFFERED
- An easy and social redway ride of around 5km (approx. an hour) around Willen Lake. Suitable for all abilities. Hosted by Ride and Shine (an MK women's cycling network)
- A slightly longer (approx 15km - 1.5 hours) Breeze ride - the ride is traffic free and will be a social ride along the canal and through the Ouzel Valley.
- A Milton Keynes CTC hosted (approx 25-30km) ride with mix of redway and road (you do not need to be a member to join).
- A Trek hosted road ride of between 40-50km - suitable for riders comfortable with road riding. The ride will be paced so no one gets left behind.
- Broughton Cycling Group will host 3 road rides of varying pace and distance, open to BCG members only.

BCG riders are asked to sign up via the BCG website.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Arrive anytime from 9.45 to enjoy pre-ride refreshments provided by Trek
Free secure bike racking will be available. Toilets available.
Rides will roll out with staggered timing between 10 and 10.30 - and return to the Trek Store.
There is NO parking at Trek.
There is free car parking available at the below locations - only 150 metres from Trek.
- Canalside car park, Silbury Boulevard at roundabout junction with Overgate. Please note, there is a 1.9m height barrier in operation. What3Words location overpaid.overlooks.reassured.
- Cricket Pavilion car park, Silbury Boulevard off Cricket Green roundabout. What3Words location play.handicaps.outpost.
- Riders are advised NOT to park at the Warbler on the Wharf pub, as parking restrictions apply.
