The perfect first step towards formalising your live blends and transforming them into something more polished and ‘ready-to-drop’. And guess what? They couldn’t be easier to create.In this relaxed digital workshop, DJ Kizzi (BBC Asian Network) will cover the basics of creating a mashup for complete beginners. Using the software <a href="https://serato.com/studio?srsltid=AfmBOoq3V5CjKUcN_fjqY5nRHAZECHiBiVbH5_toNTYdP-1VbVvmooJ-" title="https://serato.com/studio?srsltid=AfmBOoq3V5CjKUcN_fjqY5nRHAZECHiBiVbH5_toNTYdP-1VbVvmooJ-" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Serato Studio</a>, Kizzi will break down the steps in her process, showing how any track can be used as the basis for a mashup, and what you need to consider to make yours stand out.Over the course of 2 hours, we’ll explore the benefits of making mashups for DJs, break down what stems are and how to separate them, think about the role of key and genre, before experimenting with layering two different tracks together. This is an interactive workshop in which participants will have the opportunity to build their own mashups with Kizzi in real-time.We will email all registrees a free 3-month license for Serato Studio to download on the morning of the workshop. Please register in good time to ensure we can get the license to you, (and do check your junk/spam boxes if you haven’t received anything!)This workshop will close with a Q&amp;A and community discussion, offering space to chat with Kizzi and ask for personalised guidance and advice.Think you would benefit from this session, but can’t afford to contribute? <h3>ABOUT DJ KIZZI</h3>Kizzi is the sound of Saturday nights on BBC Asian Network, hosting the station’s flagship show (6–9pm) where she blends cutting-edge South Asian beats with House, Garage, Hip Hop and Afrobeats. While we are absolutely not ‘anti-men’, we see that a shorter-term solution is to provide fellowship and learning environments that are not dominated by the cisgender male perspective. Therefore, these workshops are intended for women, non-binary, trans and gender non-conforming people to attend. While we do not ban cisgender men from attending, we hope that they will respect that this event is not intended for them.
