Real Talk - What's really holding us back and how we fix it together

We’re looking for young adults (19-25) to talk honestly about the real-life barriers preventing you from getting into work.

This focus group is designed to discover what barriers individuals aged 19 – 25 are facing when trying to find sustainable employment / interviews and accessing job support.

Whether it’s mental health, Money, Lack of opportunity or just feeling stuck - we want to hear from you.

No Judgement. No Pressure. Just your voice.

Using your feedback, we are planning to create a tailored training course for this age group and put the right support in place to remove these barriers.

All participations will be completely anonymous in this focus session.

❖ Taking part is voluntary so you can decide when to leave the discussion at any time without having to give a reason.

❖ Your details will not be passed on to any 3rd parties.

❖ We will be making notes throughout the discussion. No-one outside of Mental Health UK & The Learning Shop will read these notes.

❖ The notes will be kept confidential and when we report on the findings, we won’t link your responses to candidates’ names.

The workshop is free of charge if you were aged over 19 on or before 31st July 2025, live in our catchment area (North and West Kent and some Greater London Postcode) and haven't accessed a course with us in the last year. If you do not meet our criteria there will be a charge of £20, payable on the day. To take advantage of the free funding we will ask you to complete an Enrolment Form, to include Personal details such as National Insurance Number, Address details and Employment status.
