BrightenUp London @ Gillespie Park
Join us at North London's Gillespie for a day of meadow restoration!
Join us on our next Community Day at Gillespie, where we will be working on a high priority area of the site. Volunteers will be tasked with restoring the meadow, which acts as a crucial, biodiverse habitat for butterflies and other wildlife.
Gillespie Park is Islington's largest nature reserve, consisting of 2.8 hectares of ponds, woodlands and meadow areas. It is home to 244 species of plants, 94 species of birds and 24 different types of butterfiles. Also onsite is the Islington Ecology Centre, a visitor and education centre used by the local community for events and to learn about the environment.
All equipment will be provided!
NB: If you are a group of 5 or more interested in this activity, please contact georgia@handsonlondon.org.uk before registering. Volunteers must be 18+ unless accopmanied by an adult.
