His expertise stems from over 20 years of experience in HR. Adrian started as a subject matter expert in organisational behaviour, organisational development, performance management, employee engagement, learning and development. With the evolution of technology in these areas, Adrian then led numerous complex cloud technology enabled transformations, whilst expanding in recruitment and reward areas as well.Adrian joined Vodafone in 2015 to lead the SuccessFactors design, implementation and continuous improvement for the CoE areas, across all 20 Vodafone Operating companies. Currently, he is partnering with the CoE colleagues to drive the next level of evolution - enabled by technology - supporting Vodafone 2025 strategy’.Andrew Katz - Joint Managing Partner and head of Technology Law of Moorcrofts LLP and is CEO of Orcro Limited, a compliance business specialising in risk management around software supply chain management, with particular emphasis on open source software. Formerly a software developer, Andrew qualified as a barrister in 1990 and subsequently requalified as a solicitor. He is Irish and British and is also an Irish solicitor (non-practising).He has advised companies worldwide, including global multinationals, on issues relating to open source software and software supply chain compliance.Andrew also has an interest in open hardware, having drafted the popular Solderpad Open Hardware licence, and he is also on the core drafting team of the CERN Open Hardware Licence. Andrew has been a board member of several industry and open bodies, including the Telecommunications Industry Association, Public Software CIC and the MariaDB Foundation.He is a visiting researcher at the University of Skövde in Sweden where he has published a number of papers, and his work includes a collaboration on the definition of open standards which has been adopted as public policy by the Swedish Government. He is a Fellow of the Open Forum Academy and sits on the IP Advisory board of the UN’s Technology Innovation Lab project, and his work has been published by the OUP and EUP among others. He has spoken at conferences worldwide, in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Far East. His most recent publication is the European Commission’s report on the Impact of Open source Software and Hardware on technological independence, competitiveness and innovation in the EU economy (September 2021) where he was subject matter lead for Open Hardware.He has collaborated with Oxford Brookes University on the ContrAI project, funded by InnovateUK, which integrates an Artificial Intelligence topic-modelling subsystem developed by Brookes into a legal contract drafting, negotiating and management tool. Arijit Mitra - Arijit leads the Innovation group at the Institute for Ethical A.I. He is the technical lead for software products being developed by the institute to facilitate adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics within organisations, from start-up to the established enterprise.Arijit is an experienced technologist and tech entrepreneur. He has a background in artificial intelligence, enterprise software development and big data, in sectors that include biopharma, healthcare and finance industries in the UK, EU, US and Far East.Nigel Crook -Nigel Crook is Founder and Director of the Institute for Ethical AI and is Professor of AI and Robotics at Oxford Brookes University. Nigel graduated from Lancaster University with a BSc (hons) in Computing and Philosophy in 1982 and was awarded his PhD at Oxford Brookes (CNAA) in 1991. He has over 30 years of experience as a lecturer and a researcher in AI, during which he has contributed to a wide range of topics in Artificial Intelligence, including medical diagnostic systems, explainable AI, machine learning and social robotics. His most recent work has been focussed on the development of autonomous moral machines, an area which seeks to equip robots and AI systems with a degree of moral competence relevant to the tasks they are required to perform. His work in robotics has attracted some media attention, including appearances on regional, national and international television channels. He is an expert reviewer for the European Commission and serves on several scientific committees for international journals and conferences. Samia Kamal - Dr. Samia Kamal a National Teaching Fellow and an inspiring advocate of diversity and inclusivity, both within her discipline and the higher education sector more broadly. Her championing of Computer Science pedagogy has helped to transform students’ experiences at Oxford Brookes, especially women in STEM subjects, through her proactivism and advocacy for underrepresented groups.Samia’s projects, focused on enhancing employability outcomes for Computer Scientists, have been adopted and adapted in a range of contexts beyond her institution, testifying to her influence and authority across the sector as an expert and agile pedagogue. As a proactive member of international committees and networks, Samia has impacted upon colleagues and students beyond institutional boundaries. Samia lives out her philosophy that teachers influence lives, and since becoming an academic she has striven to model and embody the success she aims to help all her learners achieve.
