Meadow clearance at St Catherine's Woods
A hands-on volunteering opportunity with the Natural Environment team maintain species-rich meadows to support plants, birds and insects.
Meadow clearance is important for maintaining open, species-rich habitats that support a wide range of plants, insects and birds. Without regular maangement these areas can quickly be degraded by encroaching scrub or other invasive species.
You'll be clearing excess vegetation which will help preserve the species-rich nature of these habitats. Doing this encourages native flora to thrive, sustaining the meadow as a valuable resource for wildlife.
We'll meet at St Martin's Pumphouse carpark.
Please bring your own refreshments.
Tools will be provided.
Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes / boots. If you have gardening gloves you are welcome to bring them with you!
This is a fantastic opportunity to use your volunteer hours and make a positive difference to our natural environment.
